NKnet

In 2011 Bamboodev has been delighted to donate our services to a very worthwhile group, located right here in Seoul, South Korea. We’ve spent several months working with NKnet on developing a new English language version of their site, consulting with their team on how best to present a staggering amount of content to an English speaking audience around the world. In the end, we once again found the open source WordPress platform to be the perfect solution. Hundreds of articles, resources and images were added to a site which was designed to make navigation as easy as possible.

On a personal note, I moved to South Korea from California a little over a year ago. When time allows, I love being able to “give back” to my community and worthwhile causes. South Korea has been a wonderful and very welcoming home to me, and I hope you will take a moment to visit NKnet.org to read about some of the human rights issues occurring just a few miles from where I now live. Working on this project has been a sobering education for me, and this crisis needs to be understood and acted upon. There are no easy answers, but education and awareness are an easy first step.

One of the main goals of the NKnet website is to educate a broad audience in regards to the human rights issues in North Korea.

Bamboodev has been kind enough to donate their time and expertise, helping us to reach a larger English speaking audience. We appreciate the assistance that Justin Williams has provided, and invite others to visit NKnet.org to learn more.

Wetlands Institute

When the New Jersey Wetlands Institute first approached BambooDev, they had an all too common dilema. Their existing website had great content, but the presentation of that content was somewhat lacking. They also found it hard to update that content, and they weren’t sure how to get involved in social media.

BambooDev met with the staff of The Wetlands Institute several times, and listened to both their needs and their goals as they described how they wanted their website to function. Ultimately, we decided to pursue a complete overhaul of the site using WordPress as the content management system. BambooDev recommended WordPress for a number of reasons. Because it is an open source software application, it more than met the requirements for a low cost solution. Furthermore, the easy to use content management system makes it easy for the staff to add or edit content whenever they need to, without forcing them to learn complicated HTML. Social media integration is no longer a mystery, as WordPress includes the ability to allow visitors to post comments and questions, and publishes simultaneously with both FaceBook and Twitter.

We are extremely pleased with the end results, and our new design has resulted in lots of positive feedback. Site visitation is up (both at the Institute and on the website) and a recently added “News & Developments” blog keeps the website current.

TalkFree

In the spring of 2007, TalkFree was in need of help. Although their business was rapidly growing, the look and feel of their website was holding them back. Lengthy pages of text, combined with cumbersome navigation menus and a poorly designed user interface were not representing the company in the best possible light. TalkFree is a leading edge technology company, and their website needed to reflect this. Existing customers were confused, and potentially new customers weren’t signing up.

BambooDev was hired to work with the TalkFree marketing department in an effort to redesign the TalkFree corporate identity and online presence. Within just a few short weeks, an entirely new site was designed – one with a foundation in usability and compelling aesthetics. Clear, concise navigation and brand management helped TalkFree stand out in the increasingly competitive VoIP industry. Search Engine Optimization best practices were applied, and visitor traffic increased 25% within 3 months. More importantly, the customer conversion rate increased by a staggering 40%.

TalkFree continues to be a leader in the VoIP business, and BambooDev is excited to have helped TalkFree design, develop and launch 6 additional brand sites since 2008, in over 7 different languages. As of fall 2010, BambooDev is working with TalkFree in both mobile and web application development. The future is bright for TalkFree, and BambooDev is thrilled to be a part of it!

Our site has turned out with excellent eye appeal, it navigates with ease and most importantly, we have gained points on our SEO and inbound organic leads.
